AMS is an international collaboration of 44 institutions from America, Europe and Asia.

The participating institutes

Since its inception, AMS has been a global endeavour.  An international collaboration of scientists, engineers, students, and staff work together to pursue precision measurement of cosmic rays and ensure continued operation of AMS on the International Space Station.  CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, is the main base of operations (at the Payload Operations Control Center, POCC) and research meetings.  AMS also maintains strong cooperation with space agencies NASA and ESA.  Computing centers, additional POCC facilities, and other crucial infrastructure are hosted by other AMS collaborating institutions.
