Updates on UTTPS

Before the end of 2019, there will be multiple space walks (Extravehicular Activities or EVAs) performed to upgrade AMS to upgrade of the original cooling system of the tracker and will enable AMS to continue to operate throughout the lifetime of the ISS. The new system is called the UTTPS which stands for Upgraded Tracker Thermal Pump System. During the upcoming series of EVAs, a team of two astronauts, one from the Italian Space Agency, Luca Parmitiano, and one from NASA, Andrew Morgan, will disconnect the old system located in the interior of the AMS detector and connect the UTTPS box containing all the new cooling components.
