Yao Chen
Yao CHEN obtained a bachelor's degree in physics at Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU), worked on DAMPE (DArk Matter Particle Explore) experiment for Silicon Tracker charge calibration and Plastic Scintillator strips Detector (PSD) charge calibration.
He then joined the AMS-02 group at University of Geneva as a PhD student and graduated in 2020 with a thesis on the measurements of Oxygen and Silicon Nuclei fluxes, and lately he has worked on the measurement of Iron nuclei flux.
He is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Shandong Institute of Advanced Technology; and is currently collaborating with the AMS-02 group at the University of Geneva under an exchange agreement between the two institutes.
He is working on software reconstruction and data analysis in view of measure the isotopic composition of light nuclei, such as Lithium and Boron. He also contributes to the detector monitoring activities at the AMS Payload and Operation Center at CERN and acts as Tracker on-call expert.
